ReshapeEU – A new Treaty of Rome
The Project
The Treaty of Rome laid the foundation for the birth of the European Community. From the 6 founding countries and the idea of a union, first and foremost, economic, today, the Union has become the Union of 27 and a common space, and a bulwark, for the protection of rights, the rule of law, and equality. The current context of polycrisis, however, poses challenges that require decisive acceleration. Above all, it requires that the debate on the challenges of today’s Europe never be set aside and involve all parts of society.
ReshapEU is an initiative of MEP Europe Alumni, which stands as a collective workshop aimed at addressing three essential issues: the protection of the rule of law, the protection of the environment, and the protection of vulnerable groups. The collective laboratory, which will develop over the next few years in several stages until 2025, the year of the 70th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome, will see its launch event on the coast of the Lake of Garda.
